Time to vote for Fenix Outdoor European Hockey Awards

​As always, we’re looking for the Young Player of the Year, the Coach of the Year, the Club of the Year, and the winner of the Career Excellence Award.

Fjällräven Young Player of the Year

Awarded to the most valuable U22 player in European hockey during the past season. The player must have displayed skill, sportsmanship, and dedication to the game and his team in both club and international competitions. The player must be with a European club during the season.

Nominees (in alphabetical order)

Oliver Kapanen, Timrå IK
Played only 36 games, but led all U22 players in points in the SHL.

Kevin Pasche, Lausanne HC
Led Lausanne to regular season top finish and NL final.

Petteri Rimpinen, Kiekko-Espoo
World Juniors Best Goaltender and All-Star; second-best save percentage in Liiga

Vinzenz Rohrer, ZSC Lions Zurich
Sixth in team scoring in the regular season. 7 points in 16 games on the NL championship team.

Axel Sandin-Pellikka, Skellefteå AIK
World Juniors Best Defenceman and All-Star, fourth in scoring, ninth in defensemen scoring in the SHL; Junior of the Year in Sweden.

Globetrotter Coach of the Year

Awarded to a coach of a European club who has demonstrated extraordinary leadership resulting in his club’s outstanding performance or vastly improved record from the previous season. The ability to develop players, combined with sportsmanlike conduct, are qualities which are also considered.

Serge Aubin, Eisbären Berlin
Fourth title in five years with Eisbären Berlin.

Marco Bayer, ZSC Lions Zurich
Promoted to head coach mid-season, led Lions to CHL championship and second consecutive NL title.

Niklas Gällstedt, Brynäs Gävle
Took a team promoted from HockeyAllsvenskan to the SHL finals.

Raimo Helminen, SaiPa Lappeenranta
The unassuming Finn took last-place team to the Liiga finals.

Kamil Pokorny, Kometa Brno
Returned to Brno after a five-year hiatus, led team to a championship; club’s first final in seven years.

Hanwag Club of the Year

Awarded to a European club which has shown excellence and/or remarkable improvement over the course of the season. Also taken into consideration is the club’s commitment to youth development, social programs and community relations or areas where the club has made a significant impact.

Eisbären Berlin
German champion, again. Fourth title in five years.

Brynäs Gävle
From HockeyAllsvenskan to SHL finals.

SaiPa Lappeenranta
From five regulation-time wins and last-place finish in 2024 to the Liiga final in 2025.

Dynamo Pardubice
Regular season 3rd, second consecutive Czech finals.

ZSC Lions Zurich
CHL champions, NL repeat champions, U20 champions, U17 champions, U15 champions.

Warrior Career Excellence Award

Shall be annually awarded to the player who, over a career span, has exemplified the qualities of sportsmanship and dedication, combined with community service and involvement and with a high standard of playing ability.

Roman Červenka, Dynamo Pardubice
Two-time World champion, two-time Worlds All-Star, both after his 36th birthday. Worlds scoring leader. More than 300 games for Czechia.

Jenni Hiirikoski, Luleå Hockey
The 38-year-old played her first Worlds in 2004; 7-time Best Defender at Worlds, 2-time Best D in the Olympics, 7-time All-Star; 12 Olympic and Worlds medals, more than 400 games with Team Finland

Moritz Müller, Kölner Haie
He may have been born in Frankfurt, but after 22 years and almost 1,000 games in Cologne – and a decade as the captain of the DEL team – the 38-year-old is a shark, through and through. Olympic silver, Worlds silver.

Linus Omark, Luleå Hockey
Something of a hockey nomad, the 37-year-old has always had his heart in Luleå. This year, he led the team to the club’s second SHL title. One World Championship gold.

Jan Urbas, Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven
Led DEL in scoring in 2024 as a 35-year-old. Has played more than 150 games for Slovenia.

The awards will be presented on 11 June at the Annual E.H.C. Awards Dinner in Prague.
